MLM Recruiting – 10 Steps To Success

Something I constantly run into is network marketers saying that they are having problems recruiting people into their business opportunity. This is quickly followed up by the question “What am I doing wrong?”

This is not an uncommon problem at all, and I think we have all been here at some point. The secret to getting past this, is to identify the areas that we are struggling in, and find ways past them.

Ok, so let’s dive into some steps that can help you recruit more people into your business.

1. Get To Work – You should only be focused on two things to begin with. First, presenting your business to 10+ people per day. There are many ways to do this, but choose a way that utilizes your relationship with the prospect. Second, converting those business presentations into sales. If you aren’t focusing on these two things, you won’t see your recruit rate increase.

2. Ask Tons Of Questions – When you talk to prospects, you need to focus on asking questions.As you ask more questions and get to know your prospect, they will naturally open up. Your prospect will start getting into what it is that they want and you may have an opportunity to present your business. It is all about providing a solution to a problem. If you can’t find a way to provide a solution, don’t offer your opportunity.

3. Overcome Your Fears – You will need to take a long look in the mirror for this one. Remember, you once had a reason for joining your company, and you need to dig deep to remember what it was. Talk it over with your family, friends, whoever was with you when you started and knows why you were so excited! What got you hyped? Find the motivation, and tackle one fear at a time. As you overcome each one, your confidence will increase, and your fear will slowly disappear.

4. Focus On Your Strengths – Identify your strengths. Are you good at talking to complete strangers? Do you run your own blog? Find your strengths, focus on them, and build upon them. All too often, people think they have to shore up all the areas where they are weak, and this simply is not true.

5. Brand Yourself As A Leader – YOU ARE THE EXPERT! Period. You are the professional anytime you are talking to prospects. You are their way into this wonderful world of network marketing, and they have to pass YOUR interview to become a member of YOUR team. People are naturally attracted to leaders, so you must quickly become one, and play the part all the time.

6. Follow Up With All Your Prospects – Many people either forget, or are afraid of following up with their prospects. It takes about 6 follow ups before a prospect is ready to buy. Remember, there are two major things happening in your prospect life – 1. They actually have a life, and are probably busy dealing with it & 2. Trust needs to be better established. By following up with them, you remind them of the opportunity, and show them that you are not there just to make a quick buck.

7. Focus On The Facts – Stick with the facts, and don’t over hype your opportunity. Saying things that are blatantly opinion make people think you are running a scam, so stick with facts. Better yet, use company sponsored marketing material to show the value of your opportunity. This will help filter out the lower quality people, and bring in the true professionals.

8. Believe In Your Company/Product/Service – Your belief must be very clear in every aspect of your business. It needs to radiate out of you in everything you do, from your prospecting calls, to presentations. Your business will die out if you do not believe in it. If you are having trouble building belief, that is ok, don’t worry. Remember that it is about other people, not just you. Talk to other distributors, or your upline. Get testimonials first hand! These help build your belief, so get as many as you can (They also come in handy later on when you need to share a testimonial).

9. Listen To Your Mentor – Your mentor has been through the problems you are facing, and knows how to guide you through them. Don’t do things differently for fun. If the system works, follow it. Once you are making as much as they are, that is when you can change things up and make new rules

10. Stay Organized And Focused – Don’t stay unfocused for too long. The task at hand is the most important task; stay focused and organized and you are golden. There will always be something else to do, so let other things go to focus on the important things.
