I hate to break it to you, but Facebook lead generation is Not about putting links to your biz opp everywhere, or adding as many friends as you can and wishing a number of them will click on your link. Facebook is a Superb tool for networkers as you can easily build real relationships with people, but you still need to take some time to BUILD.

I heard one MLMer talk about the “spray and pray” tactic…..posting your link everywhere, then praying someone bites. Come on! That is obviously NOT a sound business strategy!

3 Simple Rules for Facebook Lead Generation

1. Select your friend requests cleverly!

-If you add people who are spamming internet marketing groups they may probably spam your page with links too! Make the effort to find people who are discussing issues, or putting up quotes or ideas….click on them and actually LOOK at their page, do you have anything in common?? Is this someone who looks like you would really enjoy becoming familiar with? I suggest adding 10-20 people a day, so you Absolutely have enough time to have a fast look at everyone before you submit your request.

2. Add an Individual message with your friend request

-Even if someone accepts a request that doesnt have a personal message they won’t remember you! Add a quick message letting them know where you found them, mentioning anything you have in common, and telling them you would like to get to know them better. Ask a question if you can! Almost 100% of my friendship requests are accepted, and over 50% respond with a message asking more about who I am! Do I send them any links? NOO! Not unless they asked what I do , and then I send them to my blog posts so they can start to know me as a MLM leader. They can learn about my company later!

3. Treat Your Friends as Real Friends

-Everybody on your friends list must be handled the exact same as your regular friends!! Like their updates, comment on what they are talking about, share comments about your life or funny things your kids are doing, for example. You want to let them see you are a real person, and you build a relationship by treating them like a chum, not a business prospect!

-You can link to your new blog articles or content to then get folks learning more about you from a business point of view, but ensure they also see you as a real person!

This could be a FANTASTIC tool in your armory if you treat it properly and have some fun with it! You will essentially feel good when you do your Facebook lead generation this way, because you will make real connections. And that’s what it’s all about!
