One of the parts of the home that is looked at the most but often overlooked are the windows.What do I mean with what I said?Well we always use our windows everyday to bring in light or to bring in fresh air.  But what we overlook is how if they are old they are costing money.That is why in this article we are going to talk about some ways on how to save energy costs through our windows.

First and foremost you must know what kind of windows you have in your home.  I tell all my prospective clients of my San Diego replacement windows service to check their windows.  What I want to find out is if their windows are single paned or double paned.  If they are single paned you are wasting so much money and need to get them replaced immediately.

So how can single paned windows cost you money? Because they aren’t energy efficient.During hot season they retain heat inside the house so you would need more air conditioning.And during the cold season you would need more heating because the windows cannot retain the heat.So during the two seasons you would be using more enrgy leading to more energy costs.  The customers of my San Diego glass company are shocked to find this out but it is true.  So installing more energy efficent glass will save you money.

Strange but true but this is also the case in your bathrooms.If you have a glass shower then you may save more on energy costs.  That is shocking to my clients of my San Diego frameless glass shower service as well.  But with glass showers it is a little more energy efficient.

So there you have the reasons why you are wasting money with older windows.So if you still have those old windows in your homes then you must buy new ones already.It will give you more savings in the long run.
